5/5

Tandoori Turkey Skewers with Mint Chutney is a delightful fusion of flavors, combining succulent tandoori-spiced turkey with a vibrant and zesty mint chutney. The tandoori marinade infuses the turkey with a mix of aromatic spices, creating a savory and slightly smoky profile. The mint chutney, on the other hand, brings a burst of freshness and tanginess, perfectly balancing the rich flavors of the turkey.

INGREDIENTS

For Tandoori Turkey Skewers:

  • 1 lb turkey breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons tandoori spice mix (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)

For Mint Chutney:

  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 green chili, chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water (as needed to blend)

INSTRUCTIONS

Tandoori Turkey Skewers:

  1. In a bowl, combine plain Greek yogurt, tandoori spice mix, lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the marinade.

  2. Add the turkey breast pieces to the marinade and toss to coat them thoroughly. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours, allowing the flavors to infuse.

  3. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning during cooking.

  4. Preheat the grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

  5. Thread the marinated turkey pieces onto the skewers.

  6. Grill the turkey skewers for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the turkey is cooked through and has a nice char on the outside.

Mint Chutney:

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine fresh mint leaves, fresh cilantro leaves, chopped green chili, grated ginger, lemon juice, plain yogurt, cumin powder, and a pinch of salt.

  2. Blend the ingredients until you achieve a smooth and vibrant chutney. If needed, add a little water to help with blending.

  3. Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt or lemon juice if desired.

Assembling the Dish:

  1. Serve the Tandoori Turkey Skewers hot, accompanied by the Mint Chutney.

  2. Enjoy the flavorful tandoori turkey skewers with the cool and refreshing mint chutney for dipping.

TIPS

  • You can use store-bought tandoori spice mix or make your own by combining spices like cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, and garam masala.

  • Customize the level of spiciness by adjusting the amount of green chili in the mint chutney.

  • Serve the tandoori turkey skewers with a side of naan, rice, or a mixed salad for a complete meal.
