INSTRUCTIONS
In a bowl, combine the yogurt, tandoori masala powder, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to make the marinade.
Cut the chicken breast into thin fillets or pieces.
Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and coat them well. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator. For better flavor, marinate overnight.
Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium heat.
Grill the marinated chicken pieces for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have grill marks. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken pieces.
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Then, slice the chicken into thin strips.
Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun. Top it with sliced tomatoes, onions, and the grilled tandoori chicken strips. Add a dollop of mayonnaise or yogurt sauce if desired. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cover the burger with the top bun.
Serve the Tandoori Chicken Burgers hot with your favorite side salad or roasted vegetables.
TIPS
ou can adjust the spice levels in the tandoori marinade according to your preference. Increase or decrease the amount of red chili powder to make it more or less spicy.
For a healthier option, use whole wheat or multigrain burger buns instead of regular white buns.
Adding sliced cucumber or pickles to the burger can provide a refreshing crunch.
If you don’t have a grill or grill pan, you can also cook the marinated chicken on a stovetop in a non-stick pan.
Serve the Tandoori Chicken Burgers with a side of mixed greens or a vegetable salad for a balanced meal.
