Stir-Fried Broccoli and Bell Peppers
Stir-Fried Broccoli and Bell Peppers is a quick and colorful dish that showcases the vibrant flavors and textures of fresh vegetables in a savory stir-fry sauce. The combination of crisp-tender broccoli and the sweet crunch of bell peppers creates a satisfying balance that’s enhanced by the aromatic garlic and ginger.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (such as canola or sesame oil)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
- Sliced green onions for garnish (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add minced garlic and minced ginger to the hot oil and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
Add the broccoli florets to the wok and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes, until they start to turn bright green and slightly tender.
Add the sliced red and yellow bell peppers to the wok. Continue to stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are crisp-tender and slightly charred at the edges.
In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, and cornstarch (if using). This will create the stir-fry sauce.
Pour the stir-fry sauce over the cooked vegetables in the wok. Toss everything together to coat the vegetables evenly.
Cook for another minute or so, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the vegetables.
Season the stir-fried vegetables with salt and pepper to taste.
Assembling the Dish:
Transfer the Stir-Fried Broccoli and Bell Peppers to a serving dish or individual plates.
Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for added flavor and visual appeal.
