Spiced Roasted Walnuts

5/5

Spiced Roasted Walnuts are a delightful and aromatic snack that combines the natural richness of walnuts with a blend of warm spices. The cumin, coriander, and cinnamon add depth to the flavor profile, while the touch of cayenne pepper provides a hint of heat.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup walnut halves or pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Salt to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the walnuts and olive oil. Toss the walnuts to coat them evenly with the oil.

  3. In a separate small bowl, mix the ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of salt.

  4. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the oiled walnuts. Toss well to coat the walnuts with the spices.

  5. Spread the spiced walnuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

  6. Roast the walnuts in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are lightly toasted and fragrant. Be sure to keep an eye on them, as nuts can burn quickly.

  7. Once roasted, remove the walnuts from the oven and let them cool completely before serving.

Serve:

  • Serve the Spiced Roasted Walnuts as a flavorful and nutritious snack.

  • These walnuts can also be used as a topping for salads, yogurt, or oatmeal, or added to trail mix.

TIPS
