- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Cooking spray
INSTRUCTIONS
- Rinse the split yellow moong dal under running water and soak it in water for about 2 hours. Drain the water and let the dal sit for an additional 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the soaked and drained moong dal with chaat masala, red chili powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the lentils evenly with the spices.
- Spread the seasoned lentils in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Lightly spray the lentils with cooking spray to help them crisp up in the oven.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the lentils are golden brown and crispy, stirring them halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
- Remove from the oven and let the roasted lentil crisps cool completely before serving.
