5/5

Honey Soy Glazed Pork Chops are a delicious and flavorful dish that combines juicy pork chops with a sweet and savory glaze. The glaze is made with a combination of honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger, creating a perfect balance of flavors. These pork chops are easy to make and can be grilled, baked, or pan-seared to perfection. Serve them with steamed vegetables and rice for a complete and satisfying meal.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium if desired)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined. Set aside.

  2. Season the pork chops with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are browned and cooked through. The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the pork chops.

  4. Reduce the heat to medium and pour the honey soy glaze over the pork chops in the skillet. Allow the glaze to simmer for a minute or two, until it thickens slightly and coats the pork chops.

  5. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve the pork chops with steamed vegetables and rice or your desired side dishes.

TIPS

  1. For a more pronounced ginger flavor, you can increase the amount of grated ginger in the glaze.
  2. If you prefer a thicker glaze, you can mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch with a tablespoon of water and add it to the simmering glaze. Stir well until the glaze thickens.
  3. Make sure not to overcook the pork chops to maintain their juiciness. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare or 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness.
  4. You can marinate the pork chops in the honey soy glaze for 30 minutes to 1 hour before cooking for even more flavor.
  5. Feel free to adjust the sweetness or saltiness of the glaze by adding more or less honey or soy sauce, according to your taste preference.
