Creamy Tuscan Garlic Chicken
Creamy Tuscan Garlic Chicken is a flavorful and indulgent dish that combines tender chicken breasts with a rich and creamy garlic sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and parmesan cheese. It’s a popular Italian-inspired recipe that is easy to make and perfect for a special dinner or a comforting meal at home. The creamy sauce is made with a combination of heavy cream, chicken broth, and aromatic garlic, creating a delicious coating for the chicken and other ingredients. Serve this dish with pasta, rice, or crusty bread for a complete and satisfying meal.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, drained and chopped
- 2 cups fresh spinach leaves
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through and browned. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Let the broth simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir in the heavy cream and grated parmesan cheese. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
Stir in the sun-dried tomatoes and fresh spinach leaves. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the spinach has wilted.
Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the chicken to heat through.
Remove the skillet from the heat. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
Serve the creamy Tuscan garlic chicken with your choice of side dishes, such as pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
TIPS
- For added flavor, you can season the chicken breasts with Italian seasoning or dried herbs before cooking.
- If you prefer a lighter version, you can use half-and-half or whole milk instead of heavy cream. However, the sauce may not be as rich and creamy.
- Adjust the amount of garlic according to your preference. You can add more or less depending on your taste.
- If you don’t have sun-dried tomatoes, you can substitute with cherry tomatoes or roasted red peppers for a different flavor profile.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in a skillet or microwave.
- Feel free to customize the dish by adding other vegetables like mushrooms, bell peppers, or artichoke hearts.
