The combination of crunchy green beans and tender cabbage is stir-fried with aromatic garlic, ginger, and a flavorful sauce. INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups green beans, trimmed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cups cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Sliced green onions for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.

  2. Add minced garlic and ginger to the hot oil and stir-fry for a few seconds until fragrant.

  3. Add sliced onion to the wok and stir-fry for about 1-2 minutes until it begins to soften.

  4. Add the green beans to the wok and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until they become bright green and slightly tender.

  5. Add the sliced cabbage to the wok and stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until it starts to wilt.

  6. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.

  7. Pour the sauce over the vegetables in the wok. Toss everything together to coat the vegetables in the sauce.

  8. Season the stir-fry with salt and pepper to taste.

  9. Continue to stir-fry for an additional 1-2 minutes until the vegetables are cooked to your desired level of crispness.

  10. Remove the wok from the heat.

Assembling the Dish:

  1. Serve the Cabbage and Green Bean Stir-Fry on plates or in bowls.

  2. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
