Baked Radish Chips

5/5

Baked Radish Chips are a fun and nutritious way to enjoy the peppery and crunchy qualities of radishes in chip form. Baking the radishes transforms their texture into a satisfying crunch while highlighting their natural flavors. These chips make a guilt-free snack or side dish that’s perfect for anytime munching.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 bunch of radishes, washed and trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional seasonings: garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or your favorite herbs and spices

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Wash the radishes thoroughly and trim off the tops and bottoms. Use a sharp knife or mandoline slicer to slice the radishes into thin rounds. Make sure the slices are relatively uniform in thickness.

  3. Place the radish slices in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss the slices to coat them evenly with the oil.

  4. If using seasonings, sprinkle the desired amount of salt, pepper, and any additional spices over the radish slices. Toss again to ensure the seasonings are distributed evenly.

  5. Arrange the seasoned radish slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they don’t overlap too much to ensure even baking.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, flipping the radish slices halfway through the baking time. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning, as they can turn crisp quickly.

  7. The radish chips are ready when they are golden brown and crispy. If they are not yet crisp, you can continue to bake them for a few more minutes.

  8. Once baked, remove the radish chips from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.

Serve:

  • Enjoy the Baked Radish Chips as a healthier alternative to traditional potato chips.

  • Serve them as a crunchy snack or a creative side dish.

TIPS

  • Radishes can vary in spiciness. If you find your radishes to be particularly spicy, the baking process can mellow out their flavor.
